Creative Europe brings together actions that support Europe’s cultural and creative sectors – all those whose activities are based on cultural values or artistic and other individual or collective creative expressions. Activities may include the development, creation, production, dissemination and preservation of goods and services containing cultural, artistic or other creative expressions, as well as education or management related to these activities.
Sectors include, but are not limited to, architecture, archives, libraries and museums, arts and crafts, audiovisual (including film, television, video games and multimedia), tangible and intangible cultural heritage, design (including fashion design), festivals, music, literature, performing arts (including theatre and dance), books and publishing, radio and visual arts.
The general objectives of the programme are:
- to protect, develop and promote Europe’s cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage;
- to increase the competitiveness and economic potential of the cultural and linguistic heritage and of the cultural and linguistic creative sectors, in particular the audiovisual sector.
Grants will be awarded to support partnership projects in the field of media literacy, under the cross-sectoral strand.
The aim of supporting media literacy is to enable citizens to develop a critical understanding and use of the media. Media literacy is also a powerful instrument to limit the impact of misinformation. To this end, media literacy actions will promote the exchange of knowledge on media literacy policies and practices. The support foresees the development of innovative cross-border media literacy initiatives and communities across Europe, in a constantly changing digital-media environment and taking into account current user behaviour in different age groups.
Consortium required!
The consortium must be made up of at least three partners from three different countries participating in the Creative Europe Programme.
Consortia can include profit and non-profit organisations (private or public), public authorities (national, regional, local) and international organisations, universities and educational institutions, media organisations, research and technology institutions, technology providers with proven expertise in media literacy and/or digital media.
